In brief:
Stylish sushi joint with all the atmosphere of a disco on the Moon
In detail:

Get this, there's a new restaurant where you don't even have to speak to the waiter. Just prop yourself at the conveyer and stretch out your hand when you feel hungry. It's kind of fun.

There are some pitfalls. You run up a massive bill if you're not careful, and it's fairly tricky to hold a conversation with anyone but your immediate neighbour. True, there are conventional tables for people who have friends, but then the fun kind of disappears. This place really needs some customers too. Watching dozens of chefs carving up tiny bits of fish is fun for a while, but there's not exactly a buzz most of the time.

So is the sushi any good? Tricky to tell, but my Japanese friend seems fairly happy with it. There's not a massive variety on offer from the conveyer (or am I missing the great subtleties of Asian cuisine?) so do get yourself a nice bowl of soup. (Beware - you might have to talk to a human for that). And do try the little plates with the orange bobbly stuff. Yes it is fish eggs, but they are very interesting.

I'm not going back though. Why? OK I don't like sushi that much, but there's more too it. This place is just dead, and the novelty wears off really quickly. Sushi lovers will probably be in heaven. I'm heading off for pie and mash.

having lived in Japan I love sushi and the sushi here is ok not good not bad.
However I do hate bad service and I hate it even more when someone who is supposed to be there to take your order just ignores you.
Also the stools are uncomfortable and when I asked for a table seat I was told they were all reserved (for groups I assume). However noone came and when someone else asked the same thing they were 'allowed' to sit down.
After being ignored a bit more I just walked out.

PS never to return
unless you can get in touch with them and they email me a voucher worth several free meals.
I absolutetly hate bad service and just cus its the only kaizen sushi like this in town its overpriced for what it is

I've also lived in Japan and I can confirm that this stuff is nowhere near up to scratch. Not a patch on Tenkaichi (best sushi in Cardiff) or Ichiban (best Yaki soba in Cardiff).

Mazukatta!
