In brief:
simple menu, simple restaurant, simple night out
In detail:

We were on our way to the chippy (the cupboard was bare) and I noticed this little restaurant. It’s been there for years apparently, but I’ve never really noticed it before. The prices looked cheap, it looked ok, so we thought what the heck, it’s a Friday night, so in we went.

It’s advertised on the windows as a Mediterranean restaurant - I don’t know if this is a temporary thing (was the Mediterranean chef on holiday?) but a quick look at the menu and we see it’s a basic steakhouse. Which is actually a good thing, They don’t write using fancy words on the menu, or offer a huge variety of different foods, but what they do is keep it simple – different cuts of steak at a weight of your choice (the t-bone was recommended by the waiter, so my dining partner went with that), some veggie choices, burgers, and that’s pretty much it.

He ate that steak (and it was good if a little over cooked for medium rare) and I had BBQ ribs, which were fine (a bit dry, and perhaps a tad too much sauce). The chips (fried, probably from frozen) were ok, and the coleslaw (prob from a tub) had a bit too much mayonnaise.
The prices were reasonable, and the service was great. The San Miguel was flowing, there was no wine list, just red (not the best) or white.

We really liked the Keep It Simple Stupid attitude, summed up when we were offered desserts, I mean dessert: ”Would you like your chocolate cake served hot, or cold?”

So. We weren’t blown away with the food, but it was good, and simple. If we were stuck on another Friday night with no food in the house, and not in the mood for making too many choices, would we go again? Yeah, I think we might.
